So this episode is about movies. Specifically the excellent Marvel movies that came together to form one of the biggest and best blockbusters of all time . . . The Avengers. I’ve been a comic book fan since I was old enough to read and have been waiting for what I saw on those pages to come to the big screen since day one. The original Matrix aside this marks the first time I’ve really felt that happen. It is almost exactly the same as the super power battles I imagined around me as I walked home from school and I’m sorry but that’s awesome! The attention to detail while still remembering to be over the top in all the right places makes this the best superhero movie ever made. Joss Whedon was hands down the best guy for the job and I cannot wait to see what he does next. Film making wise I mean. I’m certainly not following him around with a pair of binoculars, watching his every move and wishing I could become him by wearing his face. That’s not how faces work. I know that.
Speaking of wearing faces, I didn’t murder anyone this weekend! My sponsor will be so proud – almost as proud as we are of our podcast. Seriously, we’re just super happy to be able to get together and record our silly banter for you, the listener. This episode is way better than the last one – we hired world renowned hip hop producer DJ Jazzy Jeff to oversee our recording process – it cost us a lot of money, but it’s totally worth it to hear us breathing directly into the microphones for an hour with such incredible fidelity. We also got to go for a ride in the red Porsche from the Parents Just Don’t Understand video.
Also – check out Josh’s work on that Avengers image at the top of the post – the Justin-Hulk makes me laugh every time I look at it.
Things Discussed, however briefly, during the show:
The Avengers, The Avengers 2, Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Thor, Thor 2: The Dark World, Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, Hulk, The Incredible Hulk, The Amazing Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, The Thing, Moon, The Rocketeer, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Cellular, Captain America (1990), S.H.I.E.L.D, Star Trek TNG, Star Trek DS9
Justin-Hulk made me laugh too! Loving this picture almost as much as I loved The Avengers.
