I’ve always been a fan of the Predator movies but I find it almost impossible to effectively communicate why that is. I mean they’re these absurd over-the-top stories that have very little to do with the alien creatures themselves. No really. Have you ever noticed that whenever you try to recall the plot, the majority of the content is forgotten and you can only remember the parts with the cool hunter that skinned it’s prey and had awesome technology? I know that was true for me. In fact by my recollection, these movies were only 30 minutes long. How is that possible you ask?
The reason is simple. After re-watching and discussing the details it’s been discovered that everyones favorite light-refracting menace is barely a part of the very movie that shares his name. The Predator is often left to being nothing more than an after-thought or separate story reserved for the end of each film. I know it sounds crazy but it’s about time the world found out the truth. Your memory cannot be trusted.
In this episode we discuss said Predator trilogy with no regard for spoilers. So if you don’t want to know any details then watch them and come back to listen later. At some point in the future we’ll cover the Alien films and eventually even the ones that cross over the two. See you next time!

Speaking of untrustworthy memories, have you guys encountered this whole Berenstein/Berenstain Bears nonsense?
I mean, I was certain it was Berenstein, with an ‘E’ – Certain.
Anyway, maybe you’re from an alternate universe where A Trouble with Words isn’t very good. Thank heavens you’ve crossed over to this one, where it’s awesome!
Here’s a new feature, I like to call:
Drinks that Are Not as Good as a Twisted Tea
The other day I found a recipe for a rather simple gin concoction, called The Bee’s Knees.
2 oz Gin
3/4 oz Honey Syrup
1/2 oz Lemon Juice
Shake with ice, and strain into a chilled glass.
Apparently, this cocktail dates back to the days of the prohibition, which makes sense: they didn’t have access to delicious Twisted Tea at that point in history, so they had to make do. Well, after preparing, and sampling The Bee’s Knees I can tell you, with no reservations, that it’s not as good as a Twisted Tea.
(That corporate money is going to start rolling in any day now.)
